Sean Huberty is a Teaching Specialist of Construction Management in the School of Planning, Design, and Construction at Michigan State University. Before coming to MSU, Sean was a Lead Faculty and Professor in several two year degree programs at Lansing Community College including Alternative Energy Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R), Computer Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, and Industrial/Construction Safety.

He has worked in several specialty areas of the construction industry over the past 25 years such as Building Commissioning, HVAC Service and Construction, Building Automation Systems, Construction Project Management, Safety Management and Training, Building Operations and Maintenance, Security, Solar PV, and many more. Sean is a member of the BEST Center (Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow), an NSF-ATE Center of Excellence and has worked on several other NSF funded projects over the last 20 years. 

Sean’s current teaching and research interests include Mass Timber Construction Education, Deconstruction and Material Reuse, and the development of Digital Twins in Building Information Modeling (BIM). Additionally, Huberty has an interest in the applications that decarbonize the construction industry through technological means.
